Newsletters, sequences and deliverability.

Add a productThe number that decides the price
Every tool in this category prices on contacts, sends, or both, and the definitions differ enough to change the invoice by a factor of two.
Some count every address in the list, including people who never open anything. Some count only contacts you actually mail that month. Some charge per send on top.
Before comparing two prices, find out what a contact means in each.
Deliverability is a feature, not a promise
Any tool can put a message in a queue. What separates them is whether it lands.
Look for authentication support that the tool walks you through, dedicated IP options if you send at volume, and a real bounce and complaint dashboard. A platform that cannot show you your complaint rate cannot help you fix it.
Automation, honestly
The word covers everything from a two-step welcome email to branching logic with conditions and waits.
Write down the one workflow you actually need, then check that the entry plan supports it. Multi-step automation is the most common feature held one tier up.
Before you import your list
Check the export format on the way out, whether unsubscribes carry over from your current tool, and how the platform treats a list it considers cold. Some suspend accounts on first import when engagement history is missing, and that is worth knowing before migration day.
